All-new Porsche Cayenne previewed: price starts from RM550k in Malaysia!

This is the first new Porsche model to be unveiled under Porsche's new distributor in Malaysia, Sime Darby Auto Performance. Indeed, it has been quite a stellar performance under this new franchise holder's helmship, as reflected in its price tags, which have been revised to the tune of RM100,000 to RM150,000 downwards across the model range.

In a sneak preview of Porsche's all-new Cayenne for Porsche Club Malaysia (PCM) members, the 2nd generation Cayenne has been revealed to be priced as follows:

Cayenne 3.6 V6 - RM550,000
Cayenne S 4.8 V8 - RM680,000
Cayenne S Hybrid - RM720,000
Cayenne Turbo - RM940,000

2010 Hyundai Tucson available now in Malaysia

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd (HSDM) today released the pricing of the new Tucson. The new Tucson, which is scheduled to be launched officially next month, will be priced at RM 126,888 (OTR) for the standard 2.0 model, RM136,888 (OTR) for the 2.0 (High Spec), and RM 152,888 (OTR) for the 2.4 the top-of-the-line model.

The new Tucson 2-litre and 2.4-litre engine come with the all-new gasoline Theta-II and are fitted with Hyundai’s new six-speed automatic transmission. The gasoline engine delivers a 12.2 percent gain in fuel economy (10.1km/l versus 9.0km/l) and is 2.5 percent quicker in zero to 100km/h acceleration times (7.8sec versus 8.0 sec). It also delivers an 11 percent improvement in 60km/h to 100km/h overtaking performance (4.0 sec versus 4.5 sec).

Furthermore the unit is maintenance-free: the gearbox is not equipped with a dipstick as it is filled with an automatic transmission fluid that is good for the life of the vehicle thereby reducing maintenance costs.

Named after a city in the U.S. state of Arizona, Tucson has been one of the most popular Hyundai models with more than 1 million units sold worldwide since its launch in 2004.

Some of the notable features of Tucson are as follows:

• 6 Speed Automatic Transmission is Hyundai developed and maintenance free for the life of the vehicle.

• Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing allows the engine to produce 166 PS (122kW) for the 2.0l and 177 PS (130 kW) for the 2.4l Theta II engine.

All-new Porsche Cayenne coming soon...

With only a few months to launch, the new Porsche Cayenne is creating an excited stir amongst Porsche fans. It is faster and smaller and judging by its specs, it packs a good punch.

It's sporty look and shorter over hangs as well as the very Panamera-esque taillights are some of the visual features that set this new Cayenne apart from the first generation Cayenne.

Another change that will be noticeable only once you have taken this Porsche for a drive is the weight, set to be lighter than the previous model despite the fact that the car will be keeping its petrol V8 engine, with an updated tune of course.

The V6 is going to be the supercharged with an Audi S4 derived direct fuel injection engine.
Porsche is also releasing an improved Diesel V6. It is expected that the 2nd generation Cayenne - and possibly the last since VW's board has axed this model from future Porsche line-up thereafter - will also have a Hybrid and the PDK, with flappy paddle shifters.
